Gold prices drop sharply in Pakistan: What’s behind the sudden fall?

ISLAMABAD: (Suno News) In a surprising turn of events, the price of 24 karat gold per tola plummeted by Rs1,600 on Monday.

The precious metal dropped to Rs347,100, compared to Rs348,700 on the previous trading day, according to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewelers Association.

Similarly, the price for 10 grams of 24 karat gold fell by Rs.1,368, settling at Rs297,582 from Rs298,950. Meanwhile, 10-gram 22 karat gold also saw a decrease, now priced at Rs272,784, down from Rs274,047.

In contrast, silver prices remained unchanged, holding steady at Rs3,497 per tola and Rs2,998 per 10 grams.

On the international market, gold saw a slight dip of $16, dropping from $3,305 to $3,289, while silver prices remained at $32.97.
