For years, people believed there may have been serious conflict. However, both actors made it clear that the Faryal Gohar and Jamal Shah divorce was not caused by betrayal or hatred. They said it was a matter of personal differences and life choices.

Faryal Gohar shared that even after their divorce in 1992 and her move abroad in 1995, they never completely cut off contact. She said, “We never deliberately stopped speaking to each other.”

She explained that Jamal valued his freedom and independence. According to her, he did not feel comfortable being tied down in a marriage.

Jamal Shah openly admitted that at that time in his life, he was not ready to fully commit. He said he was not ‘marriage material’ back then. His desire for independence played a big role in the Faryal Gohar and Jamal Shah divorce.

Jamal also revealed an incident that became the final turning point. He decided to open an art institute in Islamabad with another woman, despite Faryal advising him not to get involved.

Even warnings from others did not stop him. The project eventually failed, and this situation deepened the gap between them.
