Sindh Government suspends Sindh University pro VC over drunk video

Web Desk: The Sindh government has suspended a senior official after Sindh University Pro VC drunk video went viral and sparked serious allegations.

Professor Azhar Shah, the pro vice chancellor of Sindh University’s Dadu campus, was removed from his post after the Sindh University Pro VC drunk video began circulating widely on social media.

The footage allegedly shows him in an intoxicated condition, using inappropriate language and disrupting academic activities.

Soon after the Sindh University Pro VC drunk video spread online, Sindh Minister for Universities and Boards Muhammad Ismail Rahoo took notice of the matter. He confirmed that immediate action was taken to protect the reputation of the institution.

An official notification stated that the suspension was ordered following public reaction to the Sindh University Pro VC drunk video. Authorities said the incident could negatively impact the image of the university.

The vice chancellor has been directed to conduct a formal inquiry under the Sindh University Act and other relevant rules. The accused officer will be given a fair opportunity to explain his position. The investigation must be completed within 15 days.

After the inquiry, a detailed report with findings and recommendations will be submitted to the minister. The matter will also be placed before the university syndicate for further action if required.
