
A division bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Sarfraz Dogar and Justice Inam Amin Minhas approved the requests related to the £190 million reference case and directed that the appeals against the convictions be scheduled within two weeks.
The bench also stated that the applications for sentence suspension will be heard alongside the appeals.
In a separate case being heard by Justice Khadim Soomro of the Islamabad High Court, the Attock and Islamabad police submitted a report regarding five cases filed against Public Accounts Committee Chairman Junaid Akbar. According to the report, four cases were registered in Attock and one in Islamabad.
Meanwhile, Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain of the Anti-Terrorism Court granted post-arrest bail to PTI activist Haider Saeed.
In another case, Judicial Magistrate Muhammad Abbas Shah expressed displeasure over the continued delay in the submission of the challan (charge sheet) in the propaganda case against state institutions involving Raoof Hassan and others. The court upheld the previously issued show-cause notice to the investigating officer.
At the Lahore High Court, hearings on bail applications in eight arson cases related to the May 9 incidents involving the PTI founder were postponed until April 23, as the case records are currently with the Supreme Court.
