(Web Desk) The Government of Pakistan has officially announced a four-day public holiday for Eidul Azha.

According to a notification issued by the Cabinet Division, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved the holiday summary.

Alongside the federal government, the Punjab government has also issued its notification for Eid holidays. Following approval from the Chief Secretary of Punjab, the Services and General Administration Department announced that all government offices in Punjab will remain closed from June 6 to June 9.

The decision aims to allow government employees and the public to celebrate Eid with their families and fully enjoy the occasion. Government offices, educational institutions, and most private businesses across the country will remain closed during this period.

Eid ul Azha is marked by the ritual of animal sacrifice in accordance with the tradition of Prophet Ibrahim, which requires time, preparation, and the presence of family—hence the extended break.

Following the announcement, increased activity is expected in sectors such as transportation, hospitality, and livestock markets. A large number of people are likely to travel to their hometowns, which could lead to crowded bus terminals and railway stations.

Government departments have been directed to ensure proper sanitation, traffic management, and provision of essential civic services during the Eid holidays to prevent any inconvenience to the public.
