According to NADRA spokesperson Shabahat Ali, a total of 227 million Pakistanis are registered. This means about 97 per cent of the country’s population is now part of the national database.
He shared these details in a video statement, explaining that registration has grown significantly over the past year.
The report shows that 31.9 million childbirths have been registered at union councils. In terms of gender, 48 per cent of registered citizens are women, while 52 per cent are men.

NADRA’s biometric database is also massive. The authority holds 1.68 billion fingerprints, 170 million facial recognition records, and seven million retinal scans.
Officials said overall registration increased by 11 per cent. Childbirth registrations rose by 18 per cent, while women registrations saw an 8 per cent increase.
Across the country, 938 NADRA registration centers are currently operational. In 2025, 75 new centers were opened, and 138 additional counters were added to handle growing demand.

The Pak ID mobile application is also playing a key role. It now handles more than 15 per cent of NADRA’s services, and its downloads have crossed 12 million.
Authorities believe digital services and the expansion of centers have made registration easier for citizens, especially in remote areas.
