With the arrival of Ramadan 2026, the Punjab government has finalized preparations for the “Nigehban Dastarkhwan Maryam ke Mehman” program, aimed at providing free Iftar to fasting individuals across the province. The government has approved a budget of Rs6 billion for this initiative.
Officials stated that the program will benefit approximately one million people, with Iftar arrangements set up in every tehsil across Punjab. Each Dastarkhwan will serve thousands of fasting individuals daily, ensuring access to free meals throughout the holy month.
The free Iftar will include dates, samosas, fresh fruits, and beverages, offering a wholesome and convenient meal for participants. The Nigehban Dastarkhwan program has been officially incorporated into the Ramadan Nigehban Package, reflecting the government’s commitment to public welfare during the month of fasting.
Authorities highlighted that this year, the Punjab government plans to spend a total of Rs49 billion on various public welfare and relief initiatives during Ramadan, including programs like free Iftar distribution, to facilitate fasting citizens and provide them with ease and convenience.
