According to the latest forecast, Tuesday will remain the most comfortable day of the week, with daytime temperatures reaching 28°C and dropping to 11°C at night. The RealFeel is expected to touch 29°, while the shaded RealFeel will stay around 27°. Light east-northeasterly winds at 7 km/h will provide limited ventilation, and the UV Index remains moderate at 4.0.
Officials at the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said today’s relatively clear conditions are unlikely to continue, as persistent haze is forecast to intensify from Wednesday onward. Air quality is expected to fall into the “very unhealthy” category on both Wednesday and Thursday, prompting health advisories for sensitive groups, including children, the elderly, and those with respiratory issues.

On Wednesday, the city will experience hazy skies throughout the day, with temperatures holding steady at a high of 28°C and a low of 13°C. Winds will strengthen slightly to 13 km/h, offering marginal improvement in dispersal but not enough to counter rising pollution levels. The UV Index will stay at 4.0, though officials stress that air quality, not sunlight, will pose the greater risk.
By Thursday, air quality is projected to remain in the “very unhealthy” range, accompanied by another day of dense haze. Temperatures are expected to rise marginally to 29°C, with a nighttime low of 10°C. Winds will blow from the east-northeast at around 11 km/h, and the UV Index will again remain at 4.0.
Meteorologists attribute the worsening conditions to seasonal temperature inversions, calm wind patterns, and increased winter emissions, all of which trap pollutants close to the surface. Authorities have advised residents to plan outdoor activities today while conditions are still comparatively better, as the next two days are likely to impose significant health risks.
Health experts recommend limiting outdoor exposure during peak haze hours and using masks or air purifiers where possible. The PMD will continue to issue updates as the weather and air quality situation develops.
