Earlier, the Meteorological Department had warned of heavy rain and possible hailstorms in different parts of the country before Eidul Fitr and during the Eid holidays.
Officials said a new weather system is expected to enter the upper parts of the country within the next two days. Its effects will first appear in northern and upper regions where rainfall may begin before gradually spreading to other areas.
Meteorologists added that the new spell of rain could bring cooler weather and temporarily reduce the intensity of heat. However, strong winds in some areas may lead to falling trees and disruptions in electricity supply.
Rain alerts usually create concern before Eid travel days. Farmers and travelers need to stay careful during such weather changes. Strong winds can sometimes cause small damages or power outages. If the system becomes stronger, more districts could see rain in the coming days.
