The Pakistan hockey team defeated Japan 4-3 in a dramatic semi-final of the Hockey World Cup qualifier held in Ismailia, Egypt.

The Pakistan hockey team started strongly when captain Ammad Butt scored a brilliant field goal in the ninth minute. The early lead kept Pakistan ahead until Japan responded in the second quarter during the Pakistan vs Japan hockey battle.
Japan took control of the match in the third quarter by scoring two quick goals to lead 3-1. At that stage, many fans thought the Pakistan hockey team might struggle to recover in the Hockey World Cup qualifier.
However, the Pakistan hockey team showed remarkable determination. Abu Bakr Mahmood scored in the 52nd minute, followed by goals from Sufyan Khan and Afraz in the 55th and 57th minutes to complete a stunning turnaround in the Pakistan vs Japan hockey encounter.
Japan had a chance to equalise near the end but missed a crucial penalty stroke. The Pakistan hockey team successfully defended their lead to win the Hockey World Cup qualifier semi-final.
