
With consultations of both internal and external stakeholders, the authority prepared the draft of the regulations. The draft is now in its final approval phase and will be officially notified soon.
Key reforms under the new framework focus on protecting consumers from unexpected charges and increasing user control. The significant measures include mandatory advance notice before any tariff changes and a ban on auto-renewal of packages and offers without explicit user consent, a move designed to prevent bill shocks and foster informed usage.

In addition, all mobile operators will be required to publish up-to-date tariffs on their websites, making it easier for users to access and verify pricing details.
Any proposed tariff increases—particularly by operators with significant market dominance—must first receive approval from PTA, ensuring greater regulatory oversight.
The PTA also highlighted its advanced complaint management system, which handles billing-related complaints and actively reviews operator packages against their advertised rates. This continuous monitoring plays a critical role in maintaining compliance and promoting fair telecom practices.
