Maritime security agencies said the Thailand-flagged bulk carrier Mayuree Naree was struck about 11 nautical miles north of Oman. The attack caused damage to the vessel and triggered a fire onboard, forcing most crew members to leave the ship for safety.
The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) later confirmed the fire had been put out and said there was no environmental damage. A small number of crew members stayed onboard the vessel to manage the situation.
In another incident, the Japan-flagged container ship One Majesty was hit by an unknown projectile about 25 nautical miles northwest of Ras Al Khaimah in the United Arab Emirates. The strike caused minor damage to the vessel. Security sources said the crew was safe and the ship was en route to a secure anchorage.

A third ship was also targeted in the same region. The Marshall Islands-flagged bulk carrier Star Gwyneth was hit roughly 50 miles northwest of Dubai. According to maritime risk management company Vanguard, the projectile damaged the ship’s hull, but the crew remained safe.
The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most important shipping routes, carrying about 20% of the global oil and gas supply. Maritime traffic through the narrow waterway has dropped sharply since the Iran conflict began on February 28, raising concerns about global energy supplies and shipping safety.
