Officials have announced that the new system will use biometric authentication to verify thousands of students. In the initial phase, the board plans to implement it at over 30 examination centers.
Board authorities explained that students will undergo biometric verification on the first day of exams. This process will confirm both their identity and attendance before allowing entry into the examination hall, ensuring that only legitimate candidates can sit for the exams.
Sources indicated that approximately 6,000 students will be part of the first phase of verification. The authorities will treat this as a pilot project to evaluate the system’s efficiency and effectiveness.
If the pilot proves successful, the Lahore board intends to expand biometric verification to additional exam centers in future sessions. Officials are confident that the system will help eliminate impersonation and curb unfair practices during exams.
