Karachi (Web Desk): Sindh Rangers have arrested a highly wanted terrorist during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Gulistan-e-Johar after receiving a tip-off about his location.

The arrested man has been identified as Dost Muhammad, son of Gul Faraz Khan, originally from Bajaur. The suspect belongs to the "Fitna al-Khawarij" group, has been hiding in the city for months, officials said.

Authorities said he was involved in a major terrorist attack in November 2020. During the attack, he and his associates allegedly opened fire on a Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Nawagai Assistant Commissioner and set government property on fire.

A case was registered against him at the Makaland Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Police Station under serious terrorism charges.

After the attack, Dost Muhammad reportedly went underground and moved to Karachi, where he was allegedly planning more attacks at sensitive locations with accomplices.

Rangers said operations are ongoing to arrest the remaining members of his network. The suspect has now been handed over to the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Police for further legal action.

The spokesperson also urged citizens to report any suspicious individuals immediately to the nearest Rangers check post, via the Rangers Helpline 1101, or through WhatsApp at 0347-9001111. Authorities assured that informants’ identities will be kept strictly confidential.
