In a significant move to strengthen tourism and international mobility, Armenia has unveiled a temporary visa-free entry scheme for nationals of 113 countries, including Pakistan, effective from January 1 to July 1, 2026.

Under the new policy, eligible travelers can enter Armenia without a visa and stay for up to 180 days within a 12-month period, provided they meet specific residency criteria.

According to official guidelines, the visa-free facility applies to travelers who hold valid residence permits issued by:

  • United States
  • European Union (EU) member states
  • Schengen Area countries
  • Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states, including UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Oman

Armenian border authorities will verify documents upon arrival to confirm eligibility for the extended stay.

Boosting Tourism and Business Travel

Officials stated that the temporary visa exemption is part of Armenia’s broader strategy to boost tourism, attract business travelers, and enhance global connectivity during the early 2026 travel season. The policy is expected to benefit tourists, entrepreneurs, and long-stay visitors seeking flexibility and ease of entry.

e-Visa Option Still Available

Travelers not eligible for the visa-free entry can still apply for an Armenian e-Visa, offering 21-day and 120-day stay options through a streamlined online application process.

Authorities have advised travelers to check updated entry requirements with official Armenian government sources or embassies, as travel rules may change without prior notice.
