Speaking to reporters outside the Supreme Court, Allama Nasir Abbas said the protest was only about Imran Khan’s medical condition. He said the issue had also been raised before the court. The decision came after important consultations at the Supreme Court. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi was also present during the discussions. Even after the hearing, opposition leaders continued to talk about what steps to take next.
Imran Khan’s health has become a new flashpoint between the government and the opposition, which includes PTI and TTAP. According to a medical report submitted by his lawyer, Barrister Salman Safdar, the former Prime Minister has been diagnosed with Central Retinal Vein Occlusion (CRVO), a serious eye condition.
CRVO usually affects older people and is linked to health problems like high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, and heart disease. The report also said that Imran Khan has lost 85% of the vision in his right eye. He has been in jail since August 2023 and says the cases against him are politically motivated after he was removed from office in a 2022 parliamentary vote.
After the medical details became public, lawmakers from PTI and TTAP started a multi-day sit-in at the Parliament House and KP House on February 13. They demanded that Imran Khan be shifted to a hospital for proper treatment.

Allama Nasir Abbas said their main demand was simple: allow Imran Khan’s personal doctors to examine him. He claimed that during the protest, parliament was turned into a “jail”.
He alleged that when protesters tried to leave, routes were blocked and restrictions were placed inside the parliament area. He also revealed that when reports about Imran Khan’s eye condition first surfaced, Mahmood Khan Achakzai suggested a hunger strike. This pushed the alliance to strengthen its protest so that personal doctors could be granted access.
Now, the TTAP chief has announced that the sit-in inside parliament has ended. However, he said the concerns remain. He added that the emotions of Imran Khan’s sisters were natural and that they should be allowed to meet him. He expressed hope for improvement in his eyesight, saying, “God willing, his eyes will be treated.” He also demanded that Imran Khan be shifted to Shifa International Hospital for further medical care.
Meanwhile, KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi made another big announcement. He said Imran Khan had given him the task of leading a “street movement”. Afridi claimed that court orders were being ignored and that Imran Khan was still not being allowed to meet his personal doctors.

He announced the creation of a “PTI founder release force”, which will be formally registered. He said the group will follow a peaceful struggle and its members will take an oath in Peshawar after Eid.
According to Afridi, the force will have a clear command system, and Imran Khan will decide who leads it. He said preparations will be completed before starting any movement. Afridi said the goal of the movement is to protect the Constitution, democracy, and independent media.
