ISLAMABAD (Web Desk): The Universal Service Fund (USF) Board of Directors has approved Rs7.49 billion for seven major telecommunication projects aimed at enhancing high-speed internet and mobile broadband access in underserved areas of Pakistan.

According to a statement issued following the USF Board’s 98th meeting, the new projects will benefit nearly 960,000 people across 347 locations in 10 districts. The meeting was chaired by Zarar Hasham Khan, Secretary of the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication, at the USF headquarters on Sunday.

Among the approved initiatives are two large-scale Optical Fibre Cable (OFC) projects targeting the districts of Sanghar and Jhang.
