According to the National Weather Forecasting Centre, the system will enter Balochistan on December 19 and spread to the upper and central parts of Pakistan by December 20, bringing unsettled weather, strong winds and cold conditions to many regions.
Rain and Snowfall in Balochistan
The PMD said rain with strong winds and thunderstorms is expected in Balochistan from the evening of December 19 to December 20.
Snowfall is likely in mountainous areas including Quetta, Ziarat, Chaman, Pishin, Qila Abdullah, Qila Saifullah, Zhob, Harnai, Noshki, Kalat, Khuzdar, Panjgur, Awaran, Kech, Turbat, Gwadar and Jiwani, along with nearby districts.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Weather Forecast
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, intermittent rain, strong winds and thundershowers are expected from the night of December 20 to December 22.
Moderate snowfall is likely in upper districts such as Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Mansehra and Haripur, while rain is expected in plains including Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi, Kohat, Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan.

Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir
Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir are forecast to receive intermittent rain and snowfall with strong winds from December 20 night to December 23 morning.
The PMD warned that heavy snowfall may occur at isolated places including Skardu, Hunza, Astore, Gilgit, Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Bagh and Poonch.
Punjab and Islamabad Forecast
In Punjab and Islamabad, rain with strong winds and thunderstorms is expected from the evening of December 20 to December 21, particularly in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and the Pothohar region.
Murree and Galiyat may receive rain and snowfall, increasing the risk of landslides. Light rain or drizzle is also possible in Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan and surrounding districts.
Advisory and Safety Precautions
The PMD warned that snowfall may cause road closures and traffic disruptions in hilly areas such as Naran, Swat, Dir, Murree, Galiyat, Skardu, Astore and Neelum Valley.
There is also a risk of landslides and avalanches in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir.
Tourists have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel during the bad weather period and remain cautious. Meanwhile, central and southern Punjab and upper Sindh are likely to remain under smog conditions during the forecast period.
Authorities have urged the public to stay updated with PMD advisories and follow safety guidelines to avoid any untoward incidents.
