Web Desk: A congressional US administration briefing has revealed that the US war on Iran has already cost $11.3bn in just six days, raising concerns over soaring military expenses and prompting lawmakers to demand answers.

Officials from the Trump administration told senators this week that the first six days of the military campaign against Iran have already cost the United States at least $11.3bn, a source familiar with the briefing said.

The figure covers early operations but not the full total, leaving experts and lawmakers worried the cost will rise sharply as the conflict unfolds.

Some congressional aides say the White House may soon ask Congress for an additional $50bn or more to support ongoing operations.

During the briefing, officials also shared a breakdown showing that about $5,6bn of the expenses came from munitions used in the first two days of strikes, highlighting how quickly US military spending is increasing in this campaign.

Despite the high price tag, President Trump said during a trip to Kentucky that “we won” the conflict, even as the United States continues operations against Iranian targets.

The conflict has also had wider impacts beyond military budgets. Global energy markets have been rattled, and lawmakers are warning that extended fighting could further drain resources and push up the overall cost of the crisis.

Lawmakers are demanding more transparency on how long the conflict might last and the ultimate goals for US forces once the fighting ends.
