
The airline confirmed that it was aware of the incident and reiterated that "such unruly behaviour is completely unacceptable."
A day ago a shocking incident on an Indian airline has gone viral after a Muslim passenger was slapped on board during flight by another passenger in what witnesses have termed an unprovoked attack.
Reports say the Muslim passenger was having a panic attack on board. A flight attendant was trying to help him, moving him to another seat for his comfort, when another man, who witnesses described as mentally ill and aggressive, unexpectedly slapped the passenger on the face.
Witnesses say the assault was religiously motivated, accusing the assailant of attacking the man merely because he was Muslim.
Indian airline viral video features that some of the passengers and crew members tried to intervene, but the attacker did not stop and went on to continue arguing with those who attempted to stop him.
The flight attendant allegedly was outraged at the attack, telling the man to cease his action, but the attacker did not apologize.

The viral video of the incident sparked widespread criticism and fresh alarm at increasing intolerance towards Muslims in India. Most online users claim this is part of a disturbing trend of overt discrimination that has grown stronger in recent years.
Noticing the incident Indigo has made a statement about the incident.
IndiGo said that the unruly passenger had been identified and handed over to security authorities as soon as it landed. The airline also said that it had reported the incident to the concerned regulatory agencies.
It also added that the cabin crew "acted in line with laid down Standard Operating Procedures" when dealing with the incident.
Reiterating its position, IndiGo reiterated that it "condemns any action that would undermine the dignity and safety of passengers and crew" and is dedicated to providing a secure, respectful, and safe environment on every flight.
