NEPRA approves reduction in electricity tariff

(Web Desk): The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved a reduction in the basic electricity tariff by Rs1.50 per unit.

Sources say that NEPRA has submitted the decision regarding the basic electricity tariff for the next fiscal year to the federal government.

Sources say that the basic electricity tariff for the next fiscal year has been proposed at Rs34 per unit, while the basic electricity tariff for the current fiscal year is Rs35.50.

According to sources, the final announcement of the basic electricity tariff for consumers will be made after the approval of the federal government.

On the other hand, electricity is likely to become more expensive due to the monthly fuel price adjustment of May.

CPPA has submitted a request to NEPRA to increase electricity prices by 10 paisa per unit. The request will be heard on June 30.

Monthly electricity adjustment will not apply to K-electric consumers
