Apple is expected to launch its next-generation iPhone 17 series in September this year, and early leaks hints a major overhaul in both design and features. This could be the biggest update to the iPhone’s design and features since the launch of the iPhone X eight years ago in 2017.
The iPhone 17 lineup is likely to include four models: the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and a latest inclusion to the series called the iPhone 17 Air. There are rumors that suggest that Apple might discontinue their “Plus” model due to underwhelming sales and replace it with the slimmer and more premium iPhone 17 Air, possibly taking inspiration from the Galaxy S25 Edge.

In terms of display, the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are expected to maintain their current screen sizes of 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches respectively. The standard iPhone 17 might see an increase in display from 6.1 to 6.3 inches, while the iPhone 17 Air is rumored to come with a 6.6-inch screen.
One of the major upgrades across the entire series is the inclusion of ProMotion displays. For the very first time, even the base model iPhone 17 is expected to feature an LTPO OLED panel with a refresh rate of 120Hz, previously used for the Pro models only.
Details about Storage and Ram is still not confirmed but reports suggest that the storage of new IPhone series might range from 256 GB in basic variant to 1 Tb in pro variants.
Details of price are still unclear, but early reports suggested that the iPhone 17 Air could be more expensive than the Pro Max which appears unlikely now. Instead, the new model is expected to be priced between the IPhone Pro and Pro Max variants. Some sources also suggests that the IPhone Pro Max might cost around Rs573,999. Exact prices are yet to reveal.
With just a few months to go before the official launch, more concrete information is expected to surface. However, it’s clear that Apple is aiming to make the iPhone 17 series one of its most feature-rich and design-forward releases yet.
